Dorn’s Body and Paint Inc. is proud to announce that they have received their Factory Certification from Tesla Motors.
Tesla Motors was founded in 2003 with the vision of emulating consumer electronics’ products and enter into the automotive industry with a high end line of automobiles. Coming out of 2012, they have been able to produce over 25,000 Model S Sedans in the US and receiving the #3 highest sold all electric vehicle in the states. Moving into 2014, there is a new Model X SUV that is planned on being released and once again changing the game.
The Tesla, being such a high end and technologically advanced vehicle, inherently requires special care and qualifications to service and repair. With numerous Tesla stores in the US and overseas, there are even less Factory Certified Repair Centers. Dorn’s received their certification from Tesla in 2013. There is no other auto body repair shop qualified in Virginia to carry the Tesla Certification.
Tesla Certified Transport
There must be a certain amount of high level technicians that receive special training from Tesla in each certified shop. This training can span from a few weeks to as long as a month reviewing all of the special features that go along with the technologically advanced vehicles. Along with the specialized training, the shop must also invest in Tesla Specialized Equipment. Most of this specialized equipment is made especially for Tesla to accommodate the aluminum chassis and body panels. Another very special requirement from Tesla is the need of having an entire building constructed of strictly aluminum used only for Tesla repairs.
