Dorn’s is heavily involved in the community by supporting several organizations through donations and volunteerism. In addition to the list below, Dorn’s also contributes to the continual education of local first responders, such as fire fighters, police and EMTs. Giving them an opportunity to utilize their equipment in a learning environment helps them perform their job in an emergency.

To help improve the overall professionalism of the collision repair community, Dorn’s is an active member of the Society of Collision Repair Specialists, a national association of professional collision repairers. Barry Dorn is also a past Chairman and active national board of directors’ participant.
Locally, he is a board member for the Washington Metropolitan Auto Body Association which has aimed to improve the professionalism of the collision repair industry for Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia and Washington DC in its 50 years of existence. As a regular attendee to the Collision Industry Conference, Dorn’s stays abreast of industry issues that can affect vehicle repair, industry relations, and customer experience.
